The World Premiere of Want One and Want Two Symphonic performed by Rufus Wainwright with special guest Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) and the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Sarah Hicks is presented by the BBC Proms on 5th September at 7.30 and 10.15 respectively.

Twenty years ago Wainwright delivered what were to become seminal albums to the world - Want One and Want Two released in consecutive years 2003 and 2004. The albums had a huge impact on Wainwright’s career in the UK and Europe as well as containing some of his best loved songs: Oh What A World, Vibrate, Gay Messiah and The Art Teacher. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary Wainwright will perform both albums for the first time with orchestra in beautiful symphonic arrangements; some created especially for this occasion by Sally Herbert sit alongside those by Maxim Moston, Marius de Vries, and Michael P Atkinson among others.
