A new orchestration of Verdi’s Requiem created by Richard Blackford for The Bach Choir is now available published by Novello & Co. and released on the Nimbus Records label on April 7.
The reduced version, for two pianos, organ and percussion, is intended for choirs looking for an alternative to Verdi’s original where an orchestra is impractical or unavailable. The solo and choral vocal parts are unchanged, and Blackford’s arrangement is compatible with the current Novello vocal score.
