Rachel Portman's A Celebration for the Mayor of London’s Fund for Young Musicians

In 2012 the Mayor of London’s Fund for Young Musicians commissioned A Celebration from Rachel Portman for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee River Pageant, June 3 2012. The work, for seven brass instruments, was premiered on a barge as part of the Thames River pageant, and in very inclement weather! 

Almost ten year’s later, in a celebration of The Fund’s 10^th Birthday a new arrangement of A Celebration by Chris Hinkins for a larger more varied orchestra will premiere in a celebratory concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre on February 23, 2022.
