Marin Alsop makes her debut with the London Sinfonietta conducting the Low and Heroes Symphonies by Philip Glass at the Royal Festival Hall on 13 June. This will be the first time that these two Glass works, based on music of David Bowie and Brian Eno and celebrating their landmark recordings of the late 1970s, will have been performed together. The concert is the opening event in this year’s Meltdown Festival, which features two weeks of music and film events reflecting the diverse cultural tastes of Artistic Director David Bowie.
