Spring 2017 is rife with innovative collaborations between Music Sales composers and some of today's most exciting choreographers, presented across the country by ballet, modern and contemporary dance companies of the highest caliber.

The Joyce Theater presents Sydney Dance Company March 7-12, performing Rafael Bonachela's high-octane Frame of Mind, fittingly set to the urgent string quartets of Bryce Dessner. Joffrey Ballet returns to the Joyce March 29-April 2 for a rapturous, contemporary ballet setting of Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet by Krzyztof Pastor. The Joyce also hosts a special gala evening on March 30th, with the chance to see Christopher Wheeldon's exquisite Fool's Paradise, with music by Joby Talbot performed by Joffrey Ballet.

On the west coast, San Francisco Ballet will premiere choreographer Myles Thatcher's Ghost in the Machine April 5-18, set to extracts of music by Michael Nyman. Farther north, Oregon Ballet Theater will give the world premiere the second major collaboration between choreographer Helen Pickett and Jeff Beal from April 13-22.

Back east, Cincinnati Ballet will feature a premiere by its Artistic Director Victoria Morgan April 20-30, set to Louise Alenius Boserup's Elephant Man, on a program of all-female choreographers.

Other highlights in New York City include Paul Taylor Dance Company's performance of choreographer Lila York's Continuum set to Max Richter's hypnotic The Four Seasons Recomposed, performed live by Orchestra of St. Luke's on March 9, 19 and 24 at Lincoln Center. And, at BAM, running March 29-April 1, Doug Varone and Dancers perform a triple bill with respective settings Philip Glass's iconic Violin Concerto No. 1, Julia Wolfe's propulsive Believing, and Michael Gordon's haywire Dystopia.

To conclude our spring dance offerings, New York City Ballet features Benjamin Millepied's melancholy and elegant Neverwhere set to Nico Muhly's Drones and Viola on May 5 and 9. We hope to see you at these choreographed conclusions to our 16-17 season!
