Despite the surprisingly warm weather in the US this December, many of you may be heading to the ski slopes to enjoy time with family, friends and endless hot chocolate by the fireplace. We invite you to join our mountain trek today with Andrei Eshpai's Songs of the People in Mountains and Mari Meadows (available in the US, Canada and Mexico only) followed by Alan Hovhaness' Symphony No. 2 Mysterious Mountain. Then our journey gets a little rocky as we revel in David Lang's colossal mountain. We reach the summit with Modest Mussorgsky's beloved Night on Bare Mountain (available in the US and Canada only) and make our way back to the lodge with Dmitri Shostakovich's Golden Mountains (available in the US, Canada and Mexico only). Now that all the hard work is done, it's time to build snowmen and sip hot chocolate by the fireplace with Howard Blake's Walking in the Air and two of Ludovico Einaudi's Snow Preludes!
"The mountains, the forest, and the sea, render men savage; they develop the [ferocity], but yet do not destroy the human." — Victor Hugo
