Bryce Dessner curates Marathon Weekend at Barbican Centre

It features the world premiere of Wave Movements, a collaborative project by Dessner, Reed Parry and the world renowned photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto as well and the UK premiere of Black Mountain Songs, another multi-media collaborative project with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus that was premiered to critical acclaim in New York last November. Alongside these two major projects will be performances of Riley’s In C by the Grammy Award winning American group eighth blackbird who will be joined on stage by Dessner, Reed Parry and Nico Muhly, and Steve Reich’s Drumming performed by Barbican favorites So Percussion. Other works include By and By by Pulitzer prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw, Music for Wood and Strings and Murder Ballades by Dessner, and Sufjan Stevens’ Round Up.
