Naxos re-releases 17 Maxwell Davies recordings
This spring marks the availability of a collection of music by Peter Maxwell Davies, re-released by Naxos. This comes in the form of a 17-disc series of Maxwell Davies's long-unavailable Collins Classics catalogue.

Eight symphonies, numerous concerti, chamber, instrumental, vocal and musical theatre works are now attainable once more, on CD as well as for download. Naxos adds these recordings to its existing catalogue of Maxwell Davies's music on disc, which includes his collection of 10 Naxos String Quartets, works which were commissioned by the record label.

This first disc features Maxwell Davies's Symphony No.1 (1976) and Mavis in Las Vegas (1997), performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by the composer. It is available for purchase here.
