Carl Vine has been honoured with the 2005 Don Banks Music Award, the highest accolade that can be given to an artist by the Music Board of the Australia Council for the Arts.
The award publicly honours an artist of high distinction who has made an outstanding and sustained contribution to Australian music over a period of many years. The award was established in recognition of the late Don Banks, Australian composer and performer, and inaugural chairman of the Music Board.
