National Chamber Choir of Ireland world premiere tour of Acallam na Senórach: An Irish Colloquy
Paul Hillier leads the National Chamber Choir of Ireland on tour and CD, premiering Acallam na Senórach: An Irish Colloquy to US audiences October 13-21. Acallam na Senórach: an Irish Colloquy is a substantial, hour-long work for chamber choir, guitar and percussion based on one of the most important ancient Irish texts to survive the Middle Ages. It tells the mythical story of St. Patrick’s exchanges with two of the last-surviving members of a band of warriors. The piece is a co-commission by the National Chamber Choir of Ireland, Peak Performances at Montclair State University and The DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, at the University of Notre Dame, where it will receive its North American premiere on October 13, 2011.
