Whitacre's music has been hailed worldwide as having “unearthly beauty and imagination” (Los Angeles Times) and “emotional directness and intensity” (American Record Guide). His innovative Virtual Choir has attracted millions of viewers on YouTube, and in 2010 signed exclusively with Decca Records in a long-term recording agreement.
Also nominated from the Music Sales catalogue include, in the Best Education Publication category, Absolute Beginners: Ukulele, and three books vying for Best Pop Publication: Adele 21, Legendary Guitar Acoustic Songs, and Play Guitar with Led Zeppelin.
Musicroom.com was also nominated for the Music Maker Award.
The awards will be announced and presented on 30 Novemeber at The London Marriott.
