Poul Ruders’ newest opera Selma Jezková – based on the story in Lars von Trier’s award winning Dancer in the Dark – gets its US premiere at the Lincoln Center Festival July 29th.
Selma Jezková is the breathtaking, evocative, emotional, and epic tale of a poor factory worker with failing sight who sacrifices her own life so her son can see.
The Royal Danish Opera, Ylva Kihlberg and the rest of the cast from the world premiere in Copenhagen will present the opera at the Rose Theater in New York as part of the Lincoln Center Festival.
