Major Tour of Wallin Percussion Concerto

A major tour of Rolf Wallin’s percussion concerto, Das war schön!, will take place over the next six months. As Martin Grubinger tours with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Andrew Litton, there will be fourteen performances between November 2010 and April 2011. The tour begins in the Orchestra’s home city in Norway and then travels to Hong Kong, Sweden, Germany and Austria. For the complete dates, please click here.

‘The Norwegian composer Rolf Wallin is increasingly gaining international recognition, and this disc is likely to win him further admirers. The percussion concerto Das war schön! refuses to conform to the genre's stereotype of superficially impressive crashing and banging. This Mozart tribute combines a genial charm, with flair and a sometimes impish sense of humour.’
