The Death of Count Ugolino
Stuart MacRae has been commissioned by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to write 'Two Scenes from the death of Count Ugolino', for solo soprano and ensemble, with text taken from Dante's Inferno.

The first performance will be given by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group on 28 February 2005 at the Gulbenkian Grand Auditorium, Lisbon, Portugal; and the soloist will be Loré Lixenberg.
