Joby Talbot and Christopher Wheeldon are creating a new narrative ballet based on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for 2011. Wheeldon admits to long-time fear of following the giant MacMillan, who spotted his talent when he was a boy. ‘But I think that time has passed. I've been waiting, in a way, to have a little bit more experience, because it's a big undertaking.’
In May 2010 Joby Talbot’s first collaboration for the Royal Ballet with resident choreographer Wayne McGregor, Chroma, will have its second revival and then open in Toronto. The ballet is set to Talbot's own orchestrated interpretations of songs by Jack and Meg White (better known as the White Stripes). Chroma will open Nov. 24 at Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts as part of the National Ballet of Canada's 2010-2011 season. It will run until November 28. Single tickets to the production go on sale September 27 through the National Ballet of Canada's website.
