Handel’s Belshazzar in Manchester
Students from the Royal Northern College of Music join forces with the Manchester Camerata for a semi-staged performance of Handel’s 1744 oratorio Belshazzar on January 23. The work, which re-tells the downfall of the blasphemous and debauched King of Babylon, will be conducted by Nicholas Kraemer with counter-tenor soloist Robin Blaze. The performance will incorporate live and pre-recorded video by Gemma Briars with stage direction by Bethan Rhys Wiliam and takes place at the theatre of the RNCM, Manchester.
