Stuart MacRae choral music

Stuart MacRae’s haunting carol
Adam lay y-bounden features on the latest CD release from the Choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, conducted by Geoffrey Webber. The disc combines Medieval and Renaissance choral works alongside those by contemporary British composers – a combination which has become something of a trademark for the Cambridge choir. With its anonymous fifteenth century text and allusions to plainchant, MacRae’s piece seamlessly bridges the ancient and modern.
