First Name Music
13th August 2009
Laurence Aston has formed a new boutique music publishing company, First Name Music, with the intention of signing and developing screen composers already working in film and TV music.
First Name Music has signed a co-publishing agreement with Novello & Co for worldwide administration and promotion.
The first signings to First Name Music are Miguel Mera
and Anna Rice. Mera has scored a number of TV documentaries and has recently completed work on his first feature film score “Little Ashes” and the music for the recently transmitted BBC documentary “The Satanic Verses”. Rice has composed for animation and dramas, including the Irish feature “Trapped”, for which her score was nominated in this year’s IFTAs. Two other signings are planned for 2009.
Aston works in the music, TV and film industries, principally in management and marketing. He is manager and business affairs adviser to several leading composers of screen music, including the distinguished Polish film composer Zbigniew Preisner.
