Orion for the 2004 Olympics in Athens
Philip Glass has been commissioned to write a unique piece entitled Orion for the 2004 Athens Cultural Olympiad. He has assembled a multinational group of renowned composer/performers to collaborate with him on a work that is intended to reflect the international character of the Olympiad itself.

Glass will be joined by Mark Atkins (didjeridoo) from Australia; Wu Man (pipa) from China; Foday Musa Suso (kora) from Africa; UAKTI (multi-instrumentalists) from Brazil; Ashley MacIsaac (violin) from Canada; and Eleftheria Arvanitaki (vocalist) from Greece.
