Rob Kapilow's Book Receives PROSE Award

Composer and educator Rob Kapilow won a prestigious PROSE award for his book, All You Have to Do is Listen: Music from the Inside Out, published by John Wiley & Sons. Known for his popular “What Makes It Great?” series on NPR, Kapilow is dedicated to sharing the pleasures of classical music with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

The American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence have recognized distinguished books, journals, and electronic content since 1976. This year’s PROSE awards received a record 439 entries in 42 different categories, with Kapilow’s book picking up the highest honor in the Music & the Performing Arts category.

Robert Kapilow’s dance piece Jabberwocky recently premiered on January 18, performed by the Pickle Shoes Dance Company in Vancouver, BC. It has its New York premiere on April 25 at Lincoln Center, followed by a May 9 performance at Boston’s Celebrity Series.
