New York City’s Miller Theatre at Columbia University will honor Leon Kirchner on January 24, when its Composer Portraits series presents a 90th birthday concert of Kirchner’s chamber works. The concert will include Duo No. 2 (2001), Flutings for Paula (1973), written for flutist Paula Robison, Trio No. 1 (1954), Sonata Concertante (1952), and the influential Concerto for Violin, Violoncello, 10 Winds, and Percussion (1960).
