August Read Thomas will be conferred as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in 2004. This Fellowship is conferred only upon past students who have distinguished themselves in any of the subjects which form part of the programme of study at the Academy. Other recipients of the FRAM include Sir Henry Wood, Sir Harrison Birtwistle and Sir Simon Rattle.
