The University of Texas Wind Ensemble, conducted by Jerry Junkin will shortly begin their European tour, taking in Interlaken (Switzerland), Schladming (Austria), Barcelona (Spain) and also their London debut. The ensemble will give national premieres of Circus Maximus (Symphony No 3 for Large Wind Ensemble) by John Corigliano. Written for the Ensemble, this dramatic, spatially conceived work promises to reflect a contemporary audience’s desire for spectacle in a society of over-stimulation.
