Music by Witold Lutoslawski and John Adams underline the new feature-length ballet at Staatstheater Wiesbaden, directed by chief choreographer Stephan Thoss. Based on Heinrich Mann’s novel “Professor Unrat”, better known in its film version “The Blue Angel“ with Marlene Dietrich, the ballet tells a story of a compulsive character that is destroyed by erotic obsessions and strict morality.
