Throughout the week of February 11, to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death, Herbert Howells (1892 - 1983) will be featured as BBC Radio 3's Composer of the Week. In the series of five one-hour programmes Donald Macleod will examine some of the many different aspects to Howells’ composing career. The programmes will include the chance to hear the composer himself speaking in archive interviews, tracks from various CDs of his music, as well as some lesser known repertoire. The hour-long programmes will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 at midday, Monday to Friday. Listeners outside the UK can hear them online at the Radio 3 website
