A new recording surveying the choral music of Elizabeth Maconchy has been released by Lorelt Records in celebration of the composer’s centenary year. Featuring performances by the BBC Singers conducted by Odaline de la Martinez, the disc explores the wealth of music for voices written by Maconchy over the course of her career, from the light-hearted Creatures to the Edith Sitwell setting Still falls the rain.
The disc is the first such recording of its kind and is available to order or download from the Lorelt Records website.
