Back to Bach

Back to Bach
In addition to his six suites for unaccompanied cello, J.S. Bach composed three sonatas for the viola da gamba. On 24 October, Kate Dillingham will discuss and perform two of these sonatas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City from the versions for cello and keyboard that she edited with cellist Bernard Greenhouse: BWVs 1028 and 1029. Ed Brewer will accompany at the harpischord.

This edition of the sonatas, collected in one volume (50485851), are part of Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics, available from your dealer or from MusicDispatch.com
