Sadler’s Wells hosts the world premiere season of Christopher Wheeldon’s brand new ballet company, Morphoses featuring guest artists from The Royal Ballet, New York City Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. The premiere season features Fool’s Paradise, a brand new work from Wheeldon with music by Joby Talbot . Wheeldon and Talbot have worked together to create a version for strings and piano of Talbot’s score The Dying Swan. Wheeldon is one of the world’s most respected choreographers. After six years as resident choreographer for New York City Ballet, and most recently creating last year’s acclaimed DGV with music by Michael Nyman for The Royal Ballet, he has set up his own Company – with the aim to create adventurous and dynamic dance.
Billed as ‘the first transatlantic ballet’, the company will have a base at both Sadler’s Wells and New York City Center.
This first outing for Morphoses features works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Edwaard Liang and Christopher Wheeldon himself.
