The Australian Youth orchestra has invited Joby Talbot to lead the composing course for its annual music camp in Canberra in January 2008. In addition to inspiring a hand selected group of young composers in workshops on writing for film and ensemble, Talbot will also hear the second performance of his brand new work Mandala for six harps as well as his own orchestral and chamber music. Mandala is commissioned by the RAM Harp Faculty, AYO, and Harpist Marshall McGuire. The premiere performance takes place at the Royal Academy of Music in November.
