Tower: Top of the eMusic Charts

Immediately following this year's American Symphony Orchestra League conference in Nashville, TN, the online music retailer eMusic.com made Joan Tower's Tambor its "Daily Download." Joan Tower leapt to the top of eMusic.com's classical charts.

Tambor is on the new Naxos CD of the Nashville Symphony led by Leonard Slatkin. The disc features the first recording of her groundbreaking work, Made in America — an innovative consortium commission already performed by 65 orchestras. Slatkin and the Nashville Symphony gave a live performance of Made in America on 21 June 2007 during the orchestra conference.
