The 2006/7 season at the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz will conclude with a series of concerts at the end of April at which Aulis Sallinen will be present. In addition to a chamber music concert there will be country premieres of an arrangement of Chamber Music V and Chamber Music VI and a performance of Shadows . Finnish National Opera are staging a new production of Sallinen’s classic 1978 opera The Red Line , which concerns the dramatic events surrounding the first ever Finnish elections in 1907.
