“Fanfare – Salute to Dennis Brain” by Peter Maxwell Davies will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of legendary French horn player Dennis Brain. The East Midlands Horn Society commissioned the piece and it will be premiered at the University of Nottingham by Michael Thompson on March 25. The work, which has been co-commissioned by fifty individuals with the aim of raising the profile of the horn, exists in solo and ensemble versions. For more information go to www.british-horn.org
