Icelandic songstress Björk, together with the Brodsky Quartet, has recorded 'Prayer of the Heart' by John Tavener. Her recording accompanies a 'slide show' exhibition by one of New York's foremost photographers, Nan Goldin. The exhibition opened at the Pompidou in Paris in Autumn 2000, then comes to London's Whitechapel Art Gallery from 26 January - 31 March, before travelling to Madrid, Porto, Turin and Warsaw. Over the last 20 years Goldin's work has been influential in developing the idea of documentary photography from a single concept to a journalistic narrative. Prayer of the Heart was commissioned by One Little Indian (Björk's record company). The recording is not currently commercially available.
