Reviews
This is Britten's own arrangement of part of his choral variations, A Boy was Born. His setting of this enigmatic text is characterised by a sense of timelessness, created through the simple accompaniment texture and a repetitive, haunting melody with a narrow range. It would work well sung as a solo or by a combination of voices.
