Mother of God, Here I Stand
Reviews
Mother of God, here I stand by John Tavener was composed in 2003 for the Temple Church Choir under Stephen Layton. Brief, slow and pianissimo throughout, it creates an atmosphere of devotional stillness akin to the contemplative music of Messiaen. I can imagine this being hugely effective in performance.
