Biography

Ralf Hoyer born 1950 in Berlin, studied sound-engineering at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin / has been working as sound-engineer and recording director for several years / completed his studies in composition 1977–80 in the masterclass of the Academy of Arts with Ruth Zechlin and Georg Katzer / since 1980 freelance artist / compositions for chamber music, choir, orchestra, chamber opera and electronic music / development and realization of music/theatre performances, multi-media-projects and sound-installations, frequently together with Susanne Stelzenbach / composition awards 1983 and 1985, scholarships in 1990, 1992, 2002 and 2004 / 2002 Co-founder of the interdisciplinary festival PYRAMIDALE in Berlin-Hellersdorf / Berliner Kompositionsauftrag 2005 / Mention in the Section II-6th category: work for installation or environment at the 33rd International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Sonic Art Bourges 2006 / Chairman of the Initiative Neue Musik Berlin 1991–93 / Chairman of the Berlin-section of the German Composers Association 1995–1998 / boardmember of the Berlin Society of New Music 1995–2000, chairman 2010–2013 / commissions from international festivals, theatres and broadcasting stations, performances in several European countries,the USA and to the World Music Days of the ISCM 2006 in Stuttgart.
