Biography

Ivan Jevtic was born in 1947 in Belgrade, in Yugoslavia. After completing his composition studies with Stanojlo Rajicic at the Belgrade Academy of Music, he then continued his training with Olivier Messiaen in Paris and with Alfred Uhl in Vienna. Fame came early, and his works have been played as much in Europe – Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Romania and the USSR – as in America and Canada. He has written symphonic works, two piano concertos, two trumpet concertos as well as concertos for violin, cello, and flute, and a large number of chamber works.
