Biography

Born in Courbevoie on 30th September 1936, Monic Cecconi-Botella is a French pianist, music teacher and composer. She studied at the Paris Conservatory with Maurice Durufle, Jean Rivier and Henri Dutilleux. Shortly after she finished her studies, she worked at Conservatory of Aubervilliers as a professor music theory and later returned to the Paris Conservatory in 1983 as a professor of music analysis. She won a First at the Grand Prix de Rome in 1966 and a Grand Prix du Disque French Academy for her opera Noctuaile. She founded the Festival Seasons of the Voice in Gordes, Provence in 2008. She often explores and experiments with multi-media arts in her compositions.
