Cleveland Orchestra perform Lutoslawski on tour
On 6 June Christoph von Dohnanyi embarks on a final European tour as Music Director of The Cleveland Orchestra after a fruitful 20 year association with the orchestra. The programme includes Lutoslawski’s intense, brooding Musique Funèbre for strings, composed as a memorial work for Bartok, whose Second Violin Concerto is programmed alongside it. Taking in Paris, Dresden, Vienna, Brussels and Hamburg, the tour culminates in concerts at the Barbican on 13 and 14 June as part of the Great Performers series.
