Electroacoustic music innovator Daniel Wohl has composed a new score for 8 Minutes – a striking, immersive environment of dance, music and film, choreographed by Sadler’s Wells New Wave Associate, Alexander Whitley. The Alexander Whitley Dance Company will give the premiere at Sadler’s Wells, London on 27 and 28 June.
Working in partnership with the scientists from STFC RAL Space at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, 8 Minutes draws inspiration from the images and data of solar science research to explore the spectacular forces at work in the universe and illuminate our relationship with the star that gives us life. It includes an installation of high-definition imagery from BAFTA award-winning visual artist Tal Rosner.
8 Minutes is a Sadler’s Wells commission, co-commissioned by DanceEast and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
