Simon Carrington on British Choral Music at ACDA
Delegates to this year’s American Choral Directors Association convention should not miss celebrated choral conductor and former King’s Singer Simon Carrington’s Introduction to British choral music.

In the seminar, which takes place on Friday 6 March at 2pm, Carrington will share his insight and experience presenting music by Richard Rodney Bennett, Thea Musgrave, Tarik O’Regan, Judith Weir and James Whitbourn.

Chester Music & Novello will be present throughout the convention, which takes place from 4 to 7 March in Oklahoma City. Visitors to our stand will be able to browse through and buy an unparalleled range of choral music, including composers as diverse as Richard Allain, Patrick Hawes, Edward Elgar, Gustav Holst, Herbert Howells, John Joubert, Kenneth Leighton, Peter Maxwell Davies, Giles Swayne, Joby Talbot and John Tavener, not to mention new publications in the New Novello Handel Edition and Novello Choral Edition.

Recordings of many of these composers’ work will be available from Primarily A Cappella stand. At 3pm on 6 March, Texas-based chamber choir Conspirare will be promoting their all-O’Regan disc Threshold of Night and singing extracts from the recording at the stand.
